Meet Gloria Barrett, FOUND Dealer 93! Gloria has been a dealer at FOUND since the shop opened in August 2010.
Gloria’s booth is the space adjacent to the check-out counter. She also has three showcases in the back half of the shop. Gloria sells a general line of antiques and has a keen eye for interesting and unusual smalls. Small furniture, old photos, novelty salt and pepper shakers, jewelry are among the many items she stocks.
An Ozone Park native, Gloria later moved to Rockaway Beach and New Jersey after marrying. She opened her first antique shop in 1971. Thirty six years ago she and her husband Jerry moved to Interlaken, NY where they own and operate a large farm. A few years after relocating to Interlaken, NY Gloria opened Turn of the Century Antiques on Main Street. Her shop was a favorite stop for many current FOUND dealers. In 2004 she closed up shop and began to sell on eBay.
Gloria’s home is filled with some of her favorite collectibles which include large collections of memory jars and jugs, Blue Willow china and pig figurines. She loves to cook and bake and is a regular at regular The Falls Restaurant and Dorothy’s Music Room in Trumansburg. When asked what she loves best about the Finger Lakes she says “Absolutely no traffic and the fact that everybody knows everybody.” We love having Gloria in the shop!
