We’re thrilled to welcome sisters, Amanda Sexton and Elizabeth King as our newest vintage clothing dealers at FOUND!
Elizabeth and Amanda have been case dealers at FOUND for a little over two years and are regular vendors at the FOUND FLEA. You’ll recognize their distinctive smalls and hand-crafted items and we’re excited to see them expand their wonderful offerings with women’s vintage clothing.
Amanda and Elizabeth have a great sense of vintage style and are known for their unique smalls which include vintage millinery flowers, trims, ephemera and other fabulous baubles they’ve collected over the years.
Elizabeth specializes in vintage women’s dresses from the 1940s through the sixties. She’s got a great eye for classic design and unique accessories, and has been in the business for a little over ten years. She supplies clothing to different shops and design houses, and is a small part of a larger network of businesses that supply the TV and movie industry.
Her collecting interests include vintage millinery, trims and ribbons, and she uses period sewing notions to restore clothing authentically. She is admittedly obsessed with crazy quilts and says her best find ever was a turn of the 20th century trunk completely filled and untouched with Victorian clothing and jewelry! Period movies and antique and vintage catalogs also provide inspiration.
Amanda collects whatever appeals to her, especially if it’s useful, beautiful, hand-crafted and vintage! Her best find ever was a small brass walnut-shaped box just like the one in the fairy tale where the prince presents a tiny dog in a walnut box to his father the king.
For inspiration she follows a number of designers online, and get lots of ideas from them via blogs, Pinterest, etc. She and her sister have an enormous stash of vintage supplies to craft with and those supplies are the inspiration for everything they make.
These locals gals grew up on Cayuga Lake in Romulus. Amanda’s lived in Ithaca for sixteen years and Elizabeth lives in Marcellus. If you haven’t visited their booth yet, you’re in for a special treat!
