The Gallery @ FOUND is excited to welcome a new show by furniture craftsman Peter Walz. New Work in Exotic and Domestic Species opens on Thursday, November 15th with an artist’s reception from 5-7pm. Refreshments will be served!
Peter received his formal training in fine woodworking at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, ME. His design aesthetic centers around the use of underused and up-cyclced materials which create a feeling of rebirth in the final product. A strong emphasis is placed on joinery and carcass construction which brings out the beauty of solid wood furniture. He works with restored late 19th and 20th century American made equipment and uses a variety of finishes – from traditional rubbed oil finish to a modern spray applied water-based lacquer.
