Welcome to June and the beginning of the This is Why We Live Here Season!
If you’ve noticed that the FOUND blog and Facebook page have been a little quiet lately that’s because Ken and I were away on vacation in lovely Asheville, NC. In addition to the fantastic restaurants and magnificent scenery it’ll come as no surprise to hear we also enjoyed perusing the local antique shops. I added to my collection of vintage Fiesta and scored a sweet little vintage recipe file that was chock full. It even included some of my all time childhood favorites such as 7-Up Jello Salad and Meat Hot Dish. YUM.
I’ve been pouring over vintage recipe files for years, but this file had concoctions I’d never ever dreamed of…
Although it doesn’t specify, I suspect this recipe works best when made with instant mashed potatoes…
The name of this particular cake immediately caught my attention,
but it was the added commentary that hurled me into a fit of laughter.
Now if you’re brave enough to actually try one of these delightful vintage treats, be sure and let us know how it turns out, or even better, bring some by the shop and let us decide!
