The [email protected] FOUND is pleased to present sculptor, Jackie Dickinson as our artist in the Gallery for the month of March. Last Call opens Wednesday, March 4th and will be installed in the Gallery through Sunday, March 29th.
Last Call features works whose sculptural components are well past their usefulness in their original functional form. The tendency of industrial design to anthropomorphize parts whether by chance or on purpose gives these tools, farm equipment parts, furniture pieces and other random leftovers an opportunity to show off their form one more time in all with their rusty, crusty glory.
Jackie Dickinson is a vendor at FOUND and the owner of Dinosaur Dry Goods, an online seller of gently-used linen clothing and a variety vintage goods.
She discovered her love of re-purposing as a student at Wells College. While taking a 3D design course, the class was encouraged to make use of the well-layered and long-ago shut-down college landfill to provide parts and pieces for projects. It was with great delight that Jackie tromped to the dump with a little red wagon to retrieve rusty treasure.
