The Gallery @ FOUND is proud to welcome a new show by our very own Bill Hastings entitled HARBINGERS. The show opens Thursday, October 20th with an artist’s reception from 5-7pm. HARBINGERS will hang in the Gallery until Sunday, November 20th.
Bill’s show contains a variety of works and features sculptures which reflect the moment when change is apparent. Metaphorically these works represent environmental issues which can be traced to human action or reaction. Change is inevitable and futility abounds. They are not meant to critique specific events but stir reflection on the environment and the role we play.
Bill teaches sculpture, drawing and design at Ithaca College. He balances a full and varied life as educator, artist, antique dealer, gardener, designer and co-owner of FOUND. Nature and the environment have been central to his being, from growing up in the Catskills, having strong family connections to the Adirondacks and establishing home and family in the Fingerlakes.
