Mary Anderson: STORYTELLER

Our May show opens on Wednesday, May 16th and features the work of collage artist Mary Anderson in a show titled STORYTELLER. An opening reception will take place on Thursday, May 17th from 5-7. Mary Anderson is an award-winning children’s book author of thirty novels and two plays. Writing has always impacted Mary’s art and her desire to tell a good story with a lasting theme is a hallmark of her work. Whether writing or creating collages on glass, Mary incorporates bits and pieces of many people, places and things, reshaping them into something new. Old photos figure prominently in her work. The tenuous aspect of collage on glass makes the images more durable and at the same time creates artwork which is far more fragile, reflecting the more temporary aspects of life.
