Our January artist will be folk art painter Bonnie Bell. Her new show, Frozen in Time will hang in the Gallery from Wednesday, January 8th through Sunday, February 2nd.
Bonnie graduated with a BS in Art Education from Mansfield University in 1972 and has been a full-time working artist ever since. From portraits to murals, to water-based and oil paintings, Bonnie’s work can be found throughout many area homes and businesses.
She is well known for transforming antique sleds, saws, ironing boards, and other items into customized originals, often personalizing items with clients’ portraits, pets or homes.
Bonnie has won numerous awards for her work, including a national award for a 384-foot mural located in Towanda, PA, and has appeared several times on television’s “Home and Backyard” to demonstrate her work. Bonnie currently resides with her husband Gary, a professional chainsaw carver, in Troy, PA. Bonnie marched on the first Earth Day and has been interested in recycling with an artist’s touch every since.
