Jason Cooper King: Past Sense

Jason King 3Jason Cooper King was born and raised in Central New York. He studied art under Bond Shaw at Marcellus Central School and went on to graduate with honors from Syracuse University with a Bachelors degree in painting. Jason has had numerous commissions and several shows at area galleries, and in 2012 was commissioned to create the painting which was used for the Skaneateles Antique and Classic Boat Show poster.

Jason paints in acrylics on canvas and particularly enjoys working from old photographs that depict classic Americana. His work portrays an appreciation for a simpler time which his art so strongly evokes.

In addition to painting, Jason’s creative endeavors extend to writing songs and playing guitar in the original rock band Zen Kura whose self-titled CD has been well received.

Past Sense, will hang in the Gallery from October 2nd through the 27th.
